Fender Custom Shop 1963 Stratocaster - Desert Sand, Journeyman Relic
There was a virtual online VIP Fender Custom Shop dealer event in early 2021 to replace the cancelled annual 2021 NAMM Show event and as part of our massive orders we decided to request a bunch of 1963 Strats in finishes you wouldn't normally see on a '63 Strat.
What we've got here is Desert Sand - A finish generally seen on late '50s guitars with Maple fingerboards. We think it looks absolutely awesome!
This guitar has been lightly aged with the Custom Shop's popular 'Journeyman Relic' treatment and then the back of the neck has been hit with the heavy relic treatment so it feels worn in and super comfortable the way only a Fender Custom Shop heavy relic neck can feel. Then with the hardware we ordered it aged at Closest Classic level - Less ageing to the hardware means longer useful life.
