Description
Guitar Station is owned by a pair of left handed guitar nerds who between them have a truly remarkable guitar collection.
With a lot going on throughout 2025, Guitar Station has some big changes (and therefore big investments!) in the pipeline so as part of the journey, the fellas have nominated a few guitars from the epic lefty collection to put up for sale.
Maton's venerable BG808 model has seen all kinds of subtle changes over the years but the core essence of being a great little fingerstyle acoustic guitar is always there in these Australian-made instruments.
As this one was built 23 years ago, it stylistically takes on a higher-spec aesthetic than many current 808 models...In fact, between the grade of Blackwood used for the back/sides on this guitar, the timber binding around the body and the keyhole headstock with a figured Blackwood fascia, it actually resembles something more like the the EBG808 "Artist" model currently produced by Maton.
Overall condition is very good for its age. There's little dents here and there, small signs of wear etc...All the things you normally see on a guitar after a couple of decades. The bottom of the guitar has been drilled out where the strap pin goes to accommodate an outplut jack strop pin, for a pickup system that never got installed.
It has been set up low and fast with 12-53 strings and comes with the generic vintage hardcase pictured.
